Van Tilburg Sports

Each department tells its own story

Van Tilburg Fashion & Sport in Nistelrode is literally and figuratively a real family business because all the employees (irrespective of whether or not they are related to the Van Tilburg family) are happy to work for this organisation. And they really show it. For generations, the Van Tilburg family has stood for helpful and friendly employees, excellent customer orientation, a high level of social commitment, job satisfaction and entrepreneurial drive.

In 2013, Van Tilburg Fashion brought in Store3D to carry out the entire project to develop the company’s new sports shop. The project started with making the conceptual design in collaboration with Studio Smuk and continued on from complete realisation to turnkey delivery. On a working visit, people from the Euretco retail service organisation gave Van Tilburg and Store3D a great compliment by remarking, “This is the way sports retail is supposed to be”.

“Store3D is a joy to work with,” says Erik de Groot of Van Tilburg. “They think outside the box. The layout, which is playful and offers a hugely enjoyable shopping experience, was spot on straight away. Each department has its own character, but they link up well together. You can see that customers are also really positive from our sales figures”.

For Store3D, fitting out the 1,200 m2 floor space was a highly interesting project because of the logistics challenges posed by exceedingly large furniture items and the wide diversity of presentations and experiences. Each sport tells its own story with a matching look.
